Area and surroundings

The house is located 8 km from Jordet, which is the nearest village. Jordet offers a grocery store, gas station with LPG and convenient store, kindergarten and school. During the school year, there is also a bus connection (line 832 Hedmark Trafikk) between Eltdalen and Jordet. Jordet has a population of about 600 inhabitants and offers several different activities, including bands and sports clubs.

Within 20 minutes you reach Innbygda, at the base of Trysilfjellet. In winter it is Norway's biggest ski paradise, in summer there are plenty of other activities on and around the mountain. The region is known for its fishing, hunting, hiking and cycling opportunities. Beautiful spots and trails can be found everywhere. In the summer, there is also a good range of activities in Trysilfjellet with, among other things, a climbing park and a golf course.

In Innbygda you will find more shops and restaurants. In the surrounding hills beautiful hut areas are located, where summer and winter recreation takes place. In short, if you like tranquillity, Jordet is the place to be. If you are looking for a bit more action, Innbygda and Trysilfjellet (the mountain) are just around the corner.

Submerge yourself in all the beauty that the Trysil area has to offer throughout the year. Beautiful trails for hiking or cycling through nature. Meandering rivers and clear lakes. And of course the green forested or white snow-covered hills and mountains. 

SKIING IN TRYSIL

Trysilfjellet is Norway's largest ski area, with 72 km of slopes. It is a beautiful and diverse area for both beginners and advanced winter sports enthusiasts. 

When the days are at their shortest, a part of the mountain is illuminated, enabling skiing in the evenings.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

Hundreds of km of cross country skiing tracks are within reach from Jordet. You can start almost directly from the house, as the tracks are located just accross the road.

HIKING

Only 2 km from the property you will find Slettvola, which offers hiking opportunities. The area at Eltdalen also offers several hiking options, such as to Skardbekkstupet, which is located at 720 meters above sea level at Trysil Knuts Fjellverden. It is recommended to explore the beautiful nature areas at Elgsmyra, Eltdalen and Nordre Trysil in general, as you can find many beautiful natural gems here.

Jordet is also a perfect start for many day trips to other beautiful destinations in the direct vicinity, bringing you to preserved nature and mountain areas.

• The spectaculair Skagsvola T-marked hike, an 8,3 km hike with stunning view on the Engeren lake, is located 20 min. from Jordet.

BIKING

In summer, mountain biking is the number one sport in Trysil. Trysil Bike Arena has 100 km of mountain bike trails. The altitude of the mountain is 1132 m, so more than enough for challenging downhill trails and fine climbs for the die-hards. 

Hafjell is also within reach. A slightly smaller area compared to Trysil, but the Bike Park is equally challenging! 

Besides the bike parks, there are plenty of great trails to be found, that guide you over the most beautiful tracks and hills, such as the Trysilrunde, a marked route of 70 km that passes through Jordet. 

FISHING

Only 2,3 km from the house you can find the lakes Eltsjøen and Røsjøen. Two fishing spots that, according to local fishermen, are among the best in the whole area. In Røsjøen, there are good opportunities to fish for Arctic char.

The region is known for fishing and prime spots are marked everywhere along Trysil's many rivers and lakes. A fishing permit is required, which you can buy at various places in Jordet and Trysil, such as gas stations and the Sports shop. Besides lots of Trout, Migratory Salmon and Grayling, you will also find Pike, Perch and a few other species.
